Sydneys Q Station has fast become one of the citys most successful heritage sites, combining stylish accommodation with spectacular views and fascinating history.
Preserved within 36 stunning hectares of the Sydney Harbour National Park at North Head.
Q Stations location is among the most dramatic in Sydney secluded in a sandy cove beside native bushland and towering cliffs, with views spanning the broadest reaches of the harbour from the city to the seaside suburb of Manly.
Accommodation: 81 beautifully refurbished heritage guest rooms including eight 3 bedroom cottages have been created at Q Station within the original first-class and second-class accommodation wings, offering sweeping views across the harbour from their verandas. Each room is furnished in contemporary style, offering modern comforts like flat-screen televisions and wi-fi internet access while preserving the heritage features of the buildings.
The Boilerhouse Harbourside Restaurant and BarStanding beside a secluded sandy cove, Q Station’s Boilerhouse Harbourside Restaurant offers a contemporary selection of dishes inspired by fresh Australian produce and modern European cuisine. Housed in the site’s original boilerhouse, it adjoins the popular Boilerhouse Harbourside Bar. Open to both hotel guests and the visiting public.
Quarantine Station Story TourA walking tour of Q Station exploring the history of quarantine through the lives and experiences of both internees and staff. A chance to see heritage buildings including the hospital, morgue, showers, autoclaves, post office and wharf precinct.
Wharf WanderA 45-minute tour of the wharf precinct and an insight into the experiences of internees when they first disembarked. An opportunity to view the key historic buildings and rock inscriptions.
Ghost ToursA range of night tours exploring the strange and eerie tales that abound at Q Station. Fun for believers and sceptics alike, with options including a 2½ adult tour, a two-hour family tour, a 2½ Spirit Investigator tour with medium and an overnight Ghostly Sleepovers.
Seasonally Q Station also offers a range of activities for guests including, yoga retreats, swimming and snorkelling at its secluded beach, bike hire, kayaking and standup paddleboarding.
How To Get Here..
It takes approximately 30 minutes to drive from the city. Drive to Manly and turn right off Sydney Road into Belgrave Street and then turn left at Manly Wharf. Take the first left onto Wentworth Street (signposted North Head), take the next right onto Darley Road and go straight over the roundabout continuing on Darley Road. Drive past Manly Hospital and when you reach the roundabout turn right into our parking area to await our regular shuttle service around the site.
Q-Station is a 5 minute car or bus ride from Manly Wharf. The public buses make regular stops right at the Q-Station front gate. Q-Station is also serviced several times a day by the Eco-hopper Ferry Service from Circular Quay.
