The museum is dedicated to preserving Manly's unique history as one of Australia's most loved beach resorts. Opened in 1982, it focuses on the history of Manly and the northern beaches. The particular emphasis is on beach culture in the 20th century.

Our collection includes examples of swimwear, Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses, hats, towels, beachbags and longboards. We also have many photographs, beach memorabilia and documents.

These items have been generously donated by community members. David Jones also kindly donated a wonderful series of stylish swimwear that will make your head swim!
