6 Days Left To Enrol To Vote
It is compulsory for all eligible Australian citizens to enrol and vote in Federation elections.
If you are enrolling for the first time, or to get back on the electoral role, you can enrol online.
You are eligible to enrol if you:
- are an Australian citizen, or eligible British subject,
- aged 18 years and over and,
- have lived at your address for at least one month.
If you are 16 or 17 you can enrol now so that you are ready to vote when you turn 18.
You will need to have evidence of your identity in the form of a driver's licence, an Australian passport number or you can have someone who is enrolled confirm your identity.
You can enrol online now by filling in an online form, then submitting the form or printing the PDF to sign and return to the AEC via email or post. You can also pick up a form at any Australia Post or AEC office.
If you are not sure whether you are currently enrolled, you can check your enrolment status on the AEC website.
