The future Harbord Diggers may be under construction but that hasn’t stopped local families jumping at the opportunity to express their interest in the new child care facility that will be part of the intergenerational precinct being developed at Freshwater.

With 2011 census data indicating that more than 21 per cent of residents on the Northern Beaches have young children and almost a quarter of locals are under the age of 18, the demand for child care is increasing and it is only set to grow.

The new child care facility at the Diggers will be a purpose built, architecturally designed, 90-place childhood education and care service, privately owned and operated by a local Northern Beaches family under the trusted brand of Explore & Develop.

Explore & Develop Freshwater will be an all-inclusive child care service offering families with an extended hour preschool and long day care centre for children from six weeks to six years of age.

Local mother of three Sally Liebke, is the owner and operator of the new child care facility, Explore & Develop Freshwater, which is set to open its doors in early 2018.

“As a mother of three, I know first-hand how hectic morning drop offs and pick-ups can be for families – this is why we have designed an extended hours preschool and long day care with an all inclusive offering for families, so that everything from breakfast, the formula, bottles and sheets, to extra programs are included and no child goes without”.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our families a modern, state of the art facility that has been architecturally designed, inside and out for functionality of operations and security features, such as swipe entry and exits, that will give families peace of mind and assurance,” continued Sally.

The team at Explore & Develop Freshwater have also collaborated with one of the Northern Beaches leading landscape architects, The Garden Makers, to design two natural outdoor learning environments to suit the ages and stages of the children on each level and promote learning and development through play.

Enrolment at Explore & Develop Freshwater will include all meals including formula and bottles, all sheets for rest times, a secure on-site drop off zone, online parent lounge and all incursions and excursions will be funded by the service to ensure all children have the same opportunities.

With construction on track at the Harbord Diggers site, the new child care facility is expected to launch in early 2018 and the waitlist for Explore & Develop Freshwater is now open.

“We opened registrations of interest just two weeks ago and have had an overwhelming response from local families wanting to add their name to our wait list,” added Sally.

To register your interest in the new facility simply visit the Explore & Develop website website and follow the prompts to the Freshwater page.
