Collaroy is located on the Northern Beaches approx 22km north of Sydney's CBD.
This area was originally part of Narrabeen but was renamed after the collier S.S. Collaroy ran aground on the beach in 1881 during a storm.
Collaroy also hosts backpackers and is home to various surf shops, cafés and restaurants as well as a local cinema.
