The Manly Arts Festival will soon burst into life, ushering in an exciting three-week program of exhibitions, live performances, and artist open houses.

The Festival, which runs from 6 - 29 September, is well-known for its eclectic mix of stimulating, thought-provoking events featuring prominent musicians, performers and visual artists in venues such as artist studios, Manly Art Gallery & Museum, the Creative Space at North Curl Curl and Glen Street Theatre in Belrose.

Each year Northern Beaches Council joins forces with artists and cultural organisations with the support of local businesses to develop a creative and entertaining arts program for residents and visitors.

“The Manly Arts Festival is all about showcasing and celebrating the creativity around us on the Northern Beaches,” Mayor Regan said.

“This year the theme is See, Hear and Play and there will be a great line-up of events across the Festival.

“There will be something for everyone no matter what interests you in art and culture.”

The Festival kicks off with a Launch Party on Friday 6 September from 6-8pm at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum.

“Celebrate with the festival’s participating artists, performers and musicians and be a part of the official opening night for MAG&M’s Festival exhibitions,” Mayor Regan said.

MAG&M’s festival exhibitions are Wendy Sharpe: Wanderlust and Mick Glasheen: Garigal Country, Drawing on the Land, while at Glen Street Theatre, Spiegelesque is back in the form of Spiegelesque Too after last year’s sell-out performances.

Manly Arts Festival began in 1994 and has since grown into one of the State’s leading community-based arts festivals, attracting over 15,000 visitors each year. Check Council’s website for the full program.
