Northern Beaches Council has kicked off an extensive consultation program with the Avalon community by releasing a short survey as the first step in the development of a plan for the village.

Council is looking at how to make town centres, villages and other areas across the Northern Beaches better places to work and play.

Mayor Regan said Council are keen to get community input.

“We are always looking for new and inspiring ways to engage with our community, particularly those who we don’t always reach.

“The first step is a survey which takes a new approach – guiding residents through a series of questions about the characteristics of an ‘ideal’ town centre.

“This will give us a great insight into not only what residents value about where they live now, but what they value if you strip everything back.

“For Avalon this is the first step in a broader engagement process which will involve a series of visioning workshops, online activities and establishing a Community Reference Group.

“Our aim is to develop a plan for Avalon with the Avalon community that captures and reflects the aspirations of our community and sets out a program of enhancements that will make Avalon an even more special place.”

The ‘Care Factor’ survey only takes around five minutes to complete and is open until Sunday 24 June.

Starting with Avalon, Council plans to survey all towns in the region in the future. To take the survey click here.
