Northern Beaches Council’s Rock Relief charity concert will be the first live audience performance of the bushfire inspired song ‘Wildfire’.

Eskimo Joe front man Kav Temperley and The Superjesus singer Sarah McLeod co-wrote the tune, before bringing together some of the best names in Aussie rock to record the song to raise funds for bushfire charities.

Rock Relief, on Saturday 15 February at Brookvale Oval, is donating all ticket sales and funds raised on the day to bushfire and drought relief recovery programs, including WIRES, the Northern Beaches District Rural Fire Service and Red Cross.

“The song Wildfire is a song written and performed with love by great artists, designed for Australia’s disaster, and is a song of hope and encouragement to show that people care and will be there for them when they need it most,’’ The Superjesus singer and song co-author Sarah McLeod said.

“It’s a song that we want to use as a platform to keep the funds rolling in for the charities who give their time and efforts to take care of those people and animals that need whatever assistance they can get.

“I can’t wait to perform it live as part of a great line up at Sydney’s Rock Relief.”

Appearing on the recording is Australia’s rock royalty, including:

  • Kav Temperley (Eskimo Joe)
  • Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus)
  • Steve Kilbey (The Church)
  • Jeff Martin (The Tea Party)
  • Garry Gary Beers (INXS)
  • Chris Cheney (The Living End)
  • Dallas Frasca
  • Hoseah Partsch (The Voice)
  • Abbey Stone
  • Nat Allison (Suzi Quatro)
  • Taylor Sheridan
  • Tania Doko (Bachelor Girl)
  • Steve Richter & Michael Pignegui

They are hoping the song will achieve 10 million downloads across the world and offer people an easy way of donating through buying and playing the track.
