As the decade comes to a close and we prepare to ring in 2020, Harbord Diggers is set to celebrate in style with fireworks, live entertainment and circus acts headlining a bumper New Year’s Eve celebration on the Freshwater headland.

A strong man, a four-armed lady, a lolly aerialist and an LED hula hoop performer will turn the Diggers into the hottest New Year’s destination on the Northern Beaches, roving the grounds of the club on 31 December in the lead-up to the 9pm fireworks show.

The high-end entertainment spectacular will also feature a DJ and other live music, while multiple food options will be available across a variety of cuisines.

“We’ve been looking at developing a New Year’s Eve event for quite some time, but we wanted to make sure we did it right,” said Harbord Diggers General Manager, Michael Phillips.

“Plenty of New Year’s options come at a cost and our focus was on making sure we offered fun and free entertainment for all ages - whether it is families, young people looking for a local option or friends wanting to enjoy a night of celebration.

“We’re looking to create a really immersive, exciting and sophisticated atmosphere - the circus performers will be doing 15, 20 and 30-minute sets throughout the night and they will be complemented by the musicians and DJs who will provide a backdrop of music to set the tone for the evening spectacle,” he added.

Whether you’re seeking something new and exciting or after an old, familiar favourite, Harbord Diggers’ New Year’s Eve spectacular is the place to be.

“It has been a really exciting year for Harbord Diggers,” added Mr Phillips.

“We’ve hosted a number of very successful events this year, with our capacity crowds on ANZAC Day, sold out Cinema by the Sea and Rose and Beer Festivals and just last month we launched our Health and Wellbeing precinct which represents the completion of Stage 2 of the overall site redevelopment.

“Now it’s time to wrap up the year with a bang and what better way to do that than to celebrate with our members and take in the atmosphere at Harbord Diggers,” he concluded.

The New Year’s Eve celebration at Harbord Diggers commences at 6pm on Tuesday, 31 December. Club members may be accompanied by up to three guests for this free event with tickets to be reserved via the website (due to limited capacity).
