Impressive new Clubhouse Unveiled at Nolan Reserve

The long-awaited amenities block at Nolan Reserve in North Manly has been completed to the delight of all the sporting clubs which use the grounds.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said local soccer, cricket, touch and rugby teams along with their supporters will make great use of these new facilities.

“The old middle and south amenities buildings were so run down that we’ve replaced them with a wonderful 300-square-metre single-storey building.

“It includes two new change rooms, which give both female and male players equal access to this space.

“We’ve also installed accessible public toilets and 124 metres of accessible pathway to ensure that everyone can enjoy this new facility,” Mayor Regan said.

The new building includes a 64 square metre storage room which Manly Warringah Junior Cricket Association along with other clubs will make use off.

“It allows us a bit of a home – a central location. We have no storage at the moment so this is great. All our gear is currently stored in garages so to have a central storage is fantastic. It creates a hub for boys and girls to play rep cricket next to each other, right next to the new cricket nets, built next to this new facility. It’s perfect!,” said David Nimmo, President of the Manly Warringah Junior Cricket Association.

Harbord Football President Tom England says he is looking forward to using the new canteen and BBQ entertaining area.

“The canteen is going to be a vital source of income to us. We finally got ourselves a club base which we have lacked and it’s going to help us draw more players into the club and grow football in the area,” Mr England said.

An impressive 120 metres of tiered seating has also been built which gives spectators wonderful views of the grounds, and the adjacent bitumen court has also been upgraded into eight new cricket nets with a new basketball court expected to be completed in July.

This is the third sports amenity building opened by Council in the past two months.
