Northern Beaches Mayor, Michael Regan, is urging local seniors to join in celebrations for the 60th annual NSW Seniors Festival from Wednesday 4 April - Friday 27 April.

The 2018 Seniors Festival Program lists a host of creative activities, education and information sessions, fitness and exercise programs, health and wellbeing sessions, outings, activities and special events.

Mayor Regan said there’s something for everyone in this year’s Seniors Festival program.

“This year’s Northern Beaches Council Seniors Festival has a full calendar of events, featuring more than 90 exciting attractions and activities, all highlighting the theme: Let’s do more together,” said Mayor Regan.

A free, full-colour copy of the festival program is available at no charge from all Council offices and is free to download from Council’s website.

Don’t miss the special Wellbeing Expo, the official launch for Seniors Festival 2018 at Dee Why RSL, Friday 6 April from 10am - 2.00pm.

Keynote speaker SBS television personality Andrew L. Urban (presenter of ‘World Movies’ and the street-interview series ‘Front Up’), will recount his colourful ventures, followed by presentations from the experts on the NBN, My Aged Care and managing personal finances. The Expo will feature 40 information stalls ‘expo-zing’ options and benefits to keep you healthy and wealthy in retirement.

Other special Festival events include Comedy for a Cause, a ‘feast of comedy’ and luncheon deal with comedians Gary Eck, Sam Bowring, Peter Meisel and Oliver Phommavanh; Simple Dreams – The Songs of Linda Ronstadt at Glen Street Theatre; and Cinema Comes to Kimbriki showing the film A Plastic Ocean, described by David Attenborough as “one of the most important films of our time”.

Take part in a unique pop-up table tennis competition between youth and seniors, set in the lovely Walter Gors Park in Dee Why!

Other Festival events include free classes at Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Aquatic Centre, a guided tour through historic Brookvale, a Frank Hurley photography exhibition at Manly Art Gallery & Museum, tap dancing classes at Avalon Recreation Centre, and much, much, much more!

NSW Seniors Festival runs from Wednesday 4 April - Friday 27 April.
