Northern Beaches Council is inviting community members to an inspirational evening of music, networking and information sharing about a broad range of exciting new arts and culture projects.

Council is keen to talk to the community about how we can inspire arts and creativity on the Northern Beaches as a way to create a more inclusive and connected community.

The event will showcase six projects including the Northern Beaches Arts and Creativity Strategy, Creative Art Space North, Public Art Trail and Coastal Walkway, Manly Art Gallery & Museum masterplan, Mona Vale Performance Space feasibility study, and the Avalon Place Plan, which is likely to have a strong cultural theme.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said the evening will showcase what the projects involve, where they are up to and seek feedback from the community.

“The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for the community to learn about Council’s arts and cultural projects and initiatives in a consolidated way and to invite community input on specific projects.

“One of our commitments to the community is working towards the community’s vision of a safe, inclusive and connected community that lives in balance with its extraordinary bushland and coastal environment.

“Our recent investment into arts and culture is the largest ever and, with a large evidence base showing the benefits of creativity to community wellbeing, is testament to the strength of that commitment.

“The event will be informal and conversational so as to encourage networking opportunities and allow participants to speak directly to staff about the projects they are interested in.

“This event is open to everyone and not just art enthusiasts and will be held at our wonderful Glen St Theatre,” Mayor Regan said.
