Newly Renovated Barrenjoey House Now Open

Barrenjoey House Palm Beach opened Tuesday 18th December, after being closed for six months for a makeover.

The heritage listed restaurant and guest house joined The Boathouse Group in July this year.

“Barrenjoey House is a historic Sydney restaurant. We feel very fortunate to be the new custodians, and hope we can do justice to this very special location. Our team are excited to work on a different food concept to our cafes, as well as a different service style,” said Andrew Goldsmith.

The restaurant and seven small guest rooms have been refreshed, with the restaurant featuring custom interiors, shell mirrors, large hanging lampshades and banquette seating, as well as artworks by local artists.

“We have tried hard to maintain the unique relaxed and welcoming feel of Barrenjoey House. It has been really enjoyable to work on such a special building,” said Pip Goldsmith.

The menus are designed by Group Executive Chef Thom Williamson, and Barrenjoey House Head Chefs Doug Fraser and Petr Buchel. They have been created to offer clean and sophisticated, yet homely dishes. There will be a focus on fresh, local produce.

“We want everyone to feel welcome at Barrenjoey House, somewhere to drop in for a casual drink and a snack after a day at the beach, or to visit for a special occasion,” said Andrew Goldsmith.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday, from midday until 9pm.

In the New Year, Barrenjoey House will re-open the seven small guest rooms, which are located above the restaurant.

Barrenjoey House follows the recent opening of The Boathouse Hotel Patonga on the New South Wales Central Coast, a 15-minute ferry ride from Palm Beach wharf which is located opposite Barrenjoey House.

Reservations can be made on the Barrenjoey House website or call 02 9974 4001.
