Northern Beaches Council is calling on residents to provide their thoughts and ideas on how we should best shape a long-term landscape masterplan for Little Manly Beach Reserve and Point.

The much-loved Little Manly Beach, which faces Sydney Harbour, is regularly voted one of the top-ten places to picnic in Sydney and has been long regarded as a great place for children to enjoy especially, with its gentle harbour beach and the grassed play areas.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said the area is also blessed with significant environment and built heritage features that should be protected.

“We are keen to work closely with the community to prepare a landscape masterplan for Little Manly Beach Reserve and Point that maximises community benefit.

“The idea is to engage the community fully to guide Council on developing a long-term strategy to enhance the reserve and point for the community now – and into the future as further funding becomes available.

“We’re aiming to ensure the masterplan will consider all aspects and the interrelationship between the Reserve and Point holistically to deliver a safe, vibrant and interconnected space,” said Mayor Regan.

To help things along, Council has published “scoping” documents on its website to commence a conversation on improving pedestrian access and traffic flows, enhancing recreational amenities, upgrading landscaping and other pointers for developing a long-term plan that will secure the future of the reserve and its adjacent public assets.

The public is being urged to share their suggestions on Council’s website by completing an online comments form, make a written submission or attend an onsite drop-in session at Little Manly Beach between 10am – 12 noon, on Saturday 24 November, 2018.

Feedback will close Wednesday 10 December 2018.
