Manly Town Hall will be transformed into a live music venue on Friday, 13 September when the inaugural Stix and Stones acoustic night is staged.

The acoustic music night has been organised by a group of Year 11 Entertainment students from Cromer Secondary Campus, with Northern Beaches Council’s Youth Development Team mentoring and supporting the youngsters to help deliver the community event.

“By all reports, the kids have been very involved in the decision making and planning (of Stix and Stones) from day one, which is fantastic,’’ Northern Beaches Council Mayor Michael Regan said.

“It is a vital experience for them, they have no doubt quickly realised events just don’t happen overnight, you need to be thorough to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.

“Council has always been a big supporter of youth events, we are open to hearing what young people want. If it is reasonable and will benefit our community, we will look to make the event a reality.

“I’m also looking forward to seeing a new look Manly Town Hall, even if it is just for one night.”

Stix and Stones will showcase a vast array of local music talent from the northern beaches.

The event is for those under the age of 21, and is drug and alcohol free with security. Tickets $10 at the door.
