Wed 25 Apr 2018
The largest dawn service held on the Northern beaches.

Held directly on Dee Why beach, the ceremony commences at 5.30am and the crowd is welcomed by Veteran Centre Sydney Northern Beaches Manager and Invictus Games Gold Medalist, Ben Webb. TV veteran Jay Laga’aia, will proudly sing the New Zealand and Australian anthems just after 6am, ahead of the most beautiful sunrise you ever did see due at 6.24am.

The most powerful, yet poignant music will circle throughout the beach with sounds of bagpipes, chorus choirs, a brass band and of course the famous bugle call will all be part of the commemorative experience.

Poppies will be available for you to pay your respects and place in front of the stage post the event.

Post the service

But don’t rush off! From 6.30am everyone is invited back to the local Dee Why RSL to enjoy a $6 dollar slap up breakfast and a healthy game of two up, which will commence at 12noon. This is the ONLY opportunity in the year to play this traditional game with friends and family – it's not one to miss!
