From 29 November to 1 December 2024, a long-held tradition will return to Avalon. The Avalon Film Festival is an evolution of an Avalon tradition but unlike other film festivals, this film festival is all about Avalon.

The festival will open with a world Premiere of ‘The Restraint’, by local Academy Award winning Director, David Denneen.

There are the films made by local members of the community such as Rachel Ward, Albie Merkel, Ben Player and Jack Shepherd. Plus a run of the hilarious series, Avalon Now.

It will include films about the mythical land of Avalon - think King Arthur - and films featuring people called Avalon.

Neil Armfield and Margaret Pomeranz will discuss the challenges of adapting for the screen prior to the showing of Neil’s film, Candy.
