Events are held in February each year to help promote this message and encourage people to see an Accredited Practising Dietitian to assist with food, nutrition and lifestyle management.

As part of Australia’s Healthy Weight Week (13-19 February 2017), Australian dietitians want to inspire all Aussies to cook at home more often to achieve a healthy weight. Run by the Dietitians Association of Australia, this important week is all about getting the right advice and support for those looking to be a healthy weight.

With many Australians aspiring to eat better in the New Year, the campaign aims to get people cooking at home more often. Research shows that people who prepare food at home are more likely to eat smaller portions and take in fewer kilojoules and less fat, salt and sugar. And in turn, this is more likely to result in a healthy weight.

This year’s AHWW will be the biggest yet with more events than ever being run by Accredited Practising Dietitians. Why not attend a local event and pick up some great giveaways and tips.
