What to do in Manly
- Beaches and Water Activities

SWIM IN SAFETY!
Five commonsense rules to help you:

1 Only swim or surf at beaches patrolled by Lifeguards or Lifesavers.
2 Only swim between the red and yellow flags which always indicate the safe swimming areas.
3 Always look for advisory signs before you go in the water - and take notice of them.
4 Do not swim directly after consuming alcoholic drinks or eating food.
5 Raise one arm straight up in the air if you are in trouble - and float until help arrives.

A Mobile Locker Service is now available at Manly Beach. For only $4.00, the lockers are available every weekend during the summer period and every day in the school holidays. They are located on the Manly Beachfront near The Corso intersection.

The service is for both locals and tourists - so if you are going to the beach, it is simple decision - use the lockers or don't bring your valuables with you! Manly Police Command advises, "We strongly advise visitors to the beach avoid leaving any valuables unattended."

IN THE CAR, ON THE BEACH, KEEP YOUR VALUABLES OUT OF REACH
The most commonly reported crime in Manly is Stealing. This is mostly opportunistic theft, usually occurring in public places like carparks, supermarkets, food outlets, parks, beaches, transport stops and in the street. It pays to be aware of your valuables particularly your wallets, mobile phones and cameras. It is also important not to leave any valuables in your car and always lock the car.
